For concerts, where audiences sit at varying distances from the stage, selecting the correct pixel pitch is essential. A pixel pitch of 2.5 mm to 4 mm is standard for main stage screens viewed from 10 to 30 meters. For closer viewing, such as side screens or IMAG (image magnification) displays near the front of house, a finer pitch of 1.2 mm to 1.9 mm ensures image clarity without visible pixelation. A rule of thumb is that the minimum viewing distance in meters should equal the pixel pitch in millimeters multiplied by 1.5.
