An IP rating, defined by the international standard IEC 60529, classifies the degree of protection provided by an enclosure against solid objects and liquids. A standard 1.5m x 1m indoor LED display with 2.5mm pixel pitch consumes approximately 300 to 500 watts per square meter at maximum brightness. Refresh rate is another critical factor for video content. A minimum of 1920 Hz ensures flicker-free playback, which is especially important for dynamic menu animations. Resolution must match the content source. For a 16:9 aspect ratio display of 1.2m x 0.675m with 2.5mm pitch, the native resolution would be 480 x 270 pixels. Up-scaling lower resolution content can result in blurry text, so choose a pitch that delivers at least 30 pixels per degree of viewing angle for comfortable reading. The combination of appropriate IP rating, pixel pitch, brightness, and refresh rate ensures the display remains legible and reliable even after years of exposure to kitchen grease and cleaning chemicals.
