Always ensure that the firmware versions of the sending card and all receiver cards are compatible; mismatched firmware is a frequent cause of control issues.

Environmental and Physical Damage Concerns

Stadium LED displays are exposed to harsh weather, including rain, wind, and extreme temperatures. Water ingress is a primary concern. If you see water spots or corrosion on the modules, the display’s IP rating has been compromised. For an IP65-rated cabinet, water should not enter, but seals can degrade over time. Check the gaskets around the cabinet doors and the module latches. Condensation inside the cabinet can also cause short circuits. Install desiccant packs or ventilation fans with filters if humidity is a persistent issue. Physical damage from sports equipment, such as soccer balls or hockey pucks, can crack the LED surface. A cracked module must be replaced immediately to prevent moisture from entering the cabinet. Finally, keep a spare inventory of critical components: at least two of each type of module, power supply, receiver card, and sending card. This ensures that any failure can be resolved quickly during a live event, minimizing downtime and maintaining the professional standard expected in a stadium environment.
