High-end installations in areas with intense ambient light, such as highways or city squares, often demand 7,000 to 10,000 nits. However, excessive brightness can cause glare and energy waste, so modern displays incorporate automatic brightness adjustment using ambient light sensors. These sensors dynamically reduce brightness to around 1,000 to 2,000 nits during nighttime, extending LED lifespan and reducing power consumption. The contrast ratio, which should be at least 3,000:1 for outdoor use, ensures that text and images remain sharp even when the sun is behind the screen. Manufacturers also specify a viewing angle of 140 to 160 degrees horizontally and vertically, guaranteeing visibility from wide approaches.
Pixel pitch, the distance in millimeters between the centers of adjacent pixels, directly determines the display resolution and minimum viewing distance.
