Clean the screen at least once per week using a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth. Do not use paper towels or abrasive materials, as these can scratch the protective coating on the LEDs. For stubborn smudges, lightly dampen the cloth with distilled water or a solution of 70% isopropyl alcohol and 30% distilled water. Ensure the cloth is only slightly moist; never allow liquid to drip into the gaps between modules. The display should be powered off and completely cool before cleaning. Also check for “brightness decay” patterns: if one area of the screen appears dimmer than others, it may indicate a failing power supply or driver IC. Maintain a small inventory of spare modules, typically two to five percent of the total installed area, to enable rapid on-site replacement.
Although conference rooms are climate-controlled indoor environments, humidity and airborne contaminants still affect LED display performance. The display should have a minimum IP rating of IP30 for the front and IP20 for the rear. Higher ratings, such as IP40, offer better protection against dust ingress. Avoid installing the display near humidifiers, coffee stations, or open windows where condensation might form. High humidity can cause corrosion on the module’s solder joints and connector pins. Use a hygrometer to monitor the room’s relative humidity; keep it between 20% and 80% non-condensing. If the room experiences temperature swings, allow the display to acclimate for at least 30 minutes before powering on to prevent internal condensation. For displays that are recessed into walls, ensure there is adequate airflow behind the cabinet to prevent moisture buildup. Some manufacturers offer conformal coating on PCBs for added protection; consider this option if the conference room is in a coastal area or has inconsistent HVAC control. Static electricity is another risk in dry environments; use anti-static mats near the display and ground all equipment properly. A display that is protected from environmental extremes will maintain its specified brightness uniformity and color accuracy for its full rated lifespan, typically 100,000 hours to half-brightness.
