For indoor environments such as corporate lobbies, retail stores, conference rooms, or broadcast studios, where viewers may be as close as 2 to 5 meters, the P5 display is the appropriate solution. For outdoor billboards, stadium scoreboards, large building facades, and transportation hub signage, where the audience is typically 10 meters or more away, the P10 display is often the better fit. Cost, Installation, and Long-Term Considerations

The total cost of ownership for a P5 versus a P10 display involves more than the initial purchase price. A P5 display is significantly more expensive per square meter than a P10 display due to the fourfold increase in the number of LEDs, the higher density of driver ICs, and the more complex manufacturing process required to place components at a 5 mm pitch. For a given project budget, a P10 solution can cover a larger total screen area than a P5 solution. However, installation costs also differ. P10 modules are larger and heavier, which may require more robust structural support and more powerful lifting equipment for outdoor installations. P5 modules are smaller and lighter, making them easier to handle for indoor wall-mounted applications. Long-term maintenance is another factor. Both display types use surface-mount device (SMD) LEDs, but the smaller LEDs in a P5 panel are more susceptible to damage from physical impact and static discharge during handling. The larger LEDs in a P10 panel are generally more robust. Power and data cabling requirements are similar, but the higher pixel count of a P5 display demands more powerful processing from the video controller and more bandwidth for data transmission. Finally, consider the lifespan and depreciation. A well-maintained P5 or P10 LED display can last 100,000 hours or more.
