For an LED display to remain vivid and readable in such conditions, it must deliver a minimum brightness of 5000 nits, with many installations requiring 6000 to 8000 nits for direct view applications near windows or high traffic areas. This brightness level is significantly higher than the 1500 to 2000 nits common in retail environments. Additionally, the display must maintain consistent color and brightness across the entire panel for thousands of hours, as any degradation would be immediately noticeable to patrons. Thermal management is another critical factor; the heat generated by high brightness LEDs and the surrounding casino environment demands robust ventilation and sometimes active cooling systems to prevent premature failure. IP rating is also a consideration. While indoor casinos are climate controlled, areas near bars, restaurants, or entrances may require an IP54 rating to protect against spills and humidity.
