For a restaurant, where patrons may sit only two to three meters from the screen, a pixel pitch of P2.5mm or smaller is generally recommended. If the display is intended for a larger bar area or a high-ceiling space where viewers are four to six meters away, a P3.0mm or P3.9mm pitch can be acceptable without visible pixelation. The key is to match the pixel pitch to the minimum viewing distance. Assessing Curvature Radius and Structural Integration

The physical curvature of the LED display must be carefully selected to complement the restaurant architecture and the intended viewing geometry. Curvature is defined by the radius of the arc, measured in millimeters. A tighter curve, such as an R500 (500mm radius), creates a more immersive wrap-around effect but requires precise structural engineering. For most restaurant installations, a larger radius between R1,000 and R3,000 is more practical, as it provides a subtle curve that enhances the panoramic feel without distorting content at the edges. The display cabinet and mounting structure must be custom-engineered to support the curved shape while maintaining a uniform gap between modules. Verify that the manufacturer uses precision-machined aluminum cabinets with a tolerance of less than 0.2mm to ensure seamless panel alignment. The total power draw of the display, measured in watts per square meter (W/m²), should also be considered. A typical indoor curved LED display consumes between 150 and 300 W/m² at maximum brightness. Ensure that the restaurant electrical infrastructure can handle the peak load, especially if multiple displays are installed. Additionally, the weight of the curved structure may require reinforced wall mounts or a dedicated floor stand, so factor in the total weight per square meter, which often ranges from 20 to 35 kg/m².

Prioritizing Refresh Rate, Color Uniformity, and Video Processing

For a restaurant setting where dynamic content such as menus, promotional videos, and live sports are common, the refresh rate is a crucial parameter. A refresh rate of at least 1,920 Hz is recommended to eliminate visible flicker in both video and still images. Higher refresh rates, such as 3,840 Hz, are beneficial when displaying fast-moving content or when the display is captured on camera for social media promotion, as they prevent scanning lines and banding artifacts. Factoring in Total Cost of Ownership and Installation Complexity

The initial purchase price of a curved LED display is only one component of the total cost of ownership. Installation complexity for curved displays is significantly higher than for flat panels. The structural framing must be precisely curved, and the alignment of each cabinet requires specialized labor. Budget for professional installation and calibration services, which can add 15 to 30 percent to the total project cost. Power consumption directly affects ongoing operational costs. Calculate the estimated annual electricity cost by multiplying the power draw in kilowatts by the number of operating hours per day and the local electricity rate. For a 10-square-meter display running 12 hours per day at 250 W/m², the annual power cost can be substantial. Additionally, consider the cost of content management. Many manufacturers require proprietary media players or software licenses. Verify that the system supports standard video inputs such as HDMI 2.0 or DisplayPort 1.4 for 4K resolution content at 60Hz. A resolution of 1920x1080 pixels (Full HD) is often sufficient for restaurant use, but higher resolutions may be needed for detailed menu displays. Finally, review the warranty terms. A minimum three-year warranty on LEDs and power supplies is standard, but five-year warranties are available from premium manufacturers. Ensure that the warranty covers color calibration and panel replacement for the curved modules, as these are not interchangeable with standard flat panels.
