If moisture enters the cabinet, it can cause electrolytic corrosion on the PCB traces. Check the silicone sealant around module edges; any gaps allow water penetration. In direct sunlight, the display may require 8000 nits to remain legible, increasing power consumption. Ensure the ventilation system is not blocked by dust. Clean the air filters every three months. For coastal installations, use conformal coating on PCBs to protect against salt spray.
A structured testing protocol prevents small issues from escalating. Begin with a visual inspection of all modules at 10% brightness to identify dead pixels or color shifts. Then run a full-white test at 100% brightness to check uniformity. Measure the luminance of each module using a handheld meter; any module deviating more than 15% from the average requires recalibration. Next, run a grayscale test pattern to verify 14-bit to 16-bit color depth processing. The refresh rate should be confirmed using a high-speed camera set to a 1/1000 second shutter speed; any visible dark bands indicate a synchronization problem.
