An IP65-rated LED display is completely protected against dust ingress and can withstand water jets from any direction, making it suitable for most outdoor applications including rain exposure. Achieving IP65 protection requires sealed cabinet construction with gaskets at all panel joints, waterproof cable connectors, and drainage channels that direct any water away from electronic components. The waterproofing must be maintained at the system level, meaning not just individual cabinets but also the connections between cabinets, power entry points, and signal cable routes must be properly sealed. For coastal installations where salt air accelerates corrosion, additional protective coatings and stainless steel hardware are recommended.
