Custom-shaped LED screens often face two major challenges: visible gaps at edges and inconsistent brightness. To solve these issues effectively, you need both structural optimization and electronic calibration.
First, avoid forcing standard rectangular modules into irregular shapes. Instead, work with manufacturers to design custom modules—such as curved, circular, or polygonal units—that match the exact geometry. This approach eliminates most structural gaps from the start.
For complex curves or irregular surfaces, flexible modules offer a better solution. Since they use flexible PCBs, you can bend and fit them directly onto curved structures. As a result, you significantly reduce visible seams.
Even with precise manufacturing, installation tolerances still matter. Therefore, use adjustable mounting systems—such as multi-axis (e.g., six-axis) alignment locks. These allow technicians to fine-tune module positions on-site and minimize gaps during installation.
When small gaps remain unavoidable, you can treat them visually. Apply black neutral silicone or specialized gap-filling compounds, then smooth the surface to match the screen finish. This method helps “hide” seams and creates a more seamless appearance.
Start with professional calibration. Use dedicated equipment to measure the brightness and color of each LED pixel. Then write correction coefficients into the receiving cards. This process ensures uniform brightness and color across the entire display.
