To keep your globe display looking flawless, you need to understand the heartbeat of your screen: the pixels. Specifically, you need to know the difference between active pixels and dead pixels.

The Core Difference: Active vs. Dead Pixels

At its simplest, the difference comes down to control.

  • Active Pixels are the lifeblood of your display. These tiny components respond perfectly to control signals, changing colors and brightness instantaneously to create fluid, dynamic images.
  • Dead Pixels (often called “blind pixels” in the industry) have completely lost their connection to the control system. They either refuse to light up at all (dark pixels), or they get stuck on one single color like red, green, or blue (bright pixels).

Why Do Pixels Die?
